Covid - Quarantine

Posted on MARCH 18, 2020 inMusic

I've been a fan of Avenged Sevenfold for years, but lately I've been feeling a little disappointed. The band recently did a quarantine challenge, and while I appreciate their effort to keep us entertained during these tough times, I can't help but feel like it's just not enough.

At a time when other bands, like Trivium, are working hard to bring new music to their fans, Avenged Sevenfold seems to be content with just playing around on social media. Don't get me wrong, it's great to see them having fun, but as a fan, I want more. I want new music, I want to see them playing live, and I want to feel like they're still pushing themselves creatively.

I understand that the current situation is difficult for everyone, and that musicians are facing challenges they never could have imagined. But at the same time, I can't help but feel like some bands are making the most of this situation while others are just going through the motions.

I'm not saying that Avenged Sevenfold needs to go all-out and put on a full-scale production, but I do think they need to step up their game. Fans are looking to their favorite bands for inspiration and entertainment, and I just don't think a quarantine challenge is going to cut it.

I hope that in the coming months, Avenged Sevenfold will start to focus more on new music and less on silly challenges. Until then, I'll be counting down the days until live shows return, and I can finally get my fix of metal.
